OUR GARDEN JOURNEY
As you can see from the photo’s above this area of the garden was very overgrown when we moved in, so much so that we had no idea what the structure or landscape actually looked like. The greenhouse was in very poor condition, we had hoped it could be given a new lease of life in a new home but it was past the point of repair.
OUR LIVING ROOM
Our living room is our sanctuary, especially during the chaos of our long term renovations. It’s the place we come to hide from the rest of the house and it was one of the first rooms we completed because of that. Let’s talk through a few basics about the room. Because we plan to renovate this room again in the future we wanted to do it on as much of a budget as possible. We painted the ceiling in a standard Lyland White paint from B&Q and the walls in Earthborns Clay White. We went for a more expensive paint on the walls as we got our bay window walls lime plastered and needed a breathable paint - goodbye damp patches!
HOUSE BEFORE PICTURES
Here’s a little look back at the house before we started our renovations.
DINING ROOM MAKEOVER-CHRISTMAS EDITION
The dining room has always become a slight dumping ground for us and last week it had got to it’s worst since having it’s big transformation earlier this year. You can watch the full glow up over on Youtube but I thought I would leave some images on here as a memory of how magical the room is at this time of the year!

A LOOK BACK AT CHRISTMAS 2019
With Christmas 2020 around the corner I thought it would be fun to have a look back at Christmas 2019. Partly because I need to dig out the photo to jog my memory of the decor we have but also because it was our first Christmas on the avenue and I want to be able to remember it.
MY BIRTHDAY PART TWO
After a lovely weekend with family we headed to Cheltenham to stay in No.38 The Park. As you can see from the display of balloons Ollie went all in with the birthday celebrations.
MY BIRTHDAY
This year my birthday weekend fell right when the Beast from the East was hitting Devon. I couldn’t believe the amount of snow we had for March, it’s never snowed anywhere near my birthday month before so that was pretty surreal...
UNASSUMING MOMENTS
This past weekend was a great one. I have to admit it has been a while since Ollie and I rediscovered our childlike wonder and just enjoyed ourselves, as it happens a day out of the city did just that. Richmond is outside the city right?...
BEATING THE JANUARY BLUES
There is no hiding the fact that January is universally one of the toughest months of the year, all of the festivities from Christmas are over, your bank balance has depleted and the weather is, well, miserable!
GOLD BUTTON UP
I have to admit, I don’t have many black coats in my wardrobe but as soon as I saw this one it felt like it had my style written all over it. The gorgeous gold button detailing swayed me and it’s become a wonderfully versatile piece which I can dress up and down.
COSY OUTERWEAR
The silver lining of these grey clouds in the sky is the thought of snuggling up in cosy outerwear. When it comes to the colder temperatures there is only two reason I reach for...
FLORAL RUFFLES AND BRITISH MILITARY STYLE
I think I’m currently in my favourite winter period for dressing, it’s cold enough to bundle up and put a coat on but still bearable enough to walk around outside without feeling like one of your extremities is going to fall off...
CHRISTMAS IN LONDON
There is no better place than London for the build up to Christmas. This year I promised myself I would try and make the most of it, take a bit more time off over December and really enjoy the festivities. I finally got around to ice skating at Somerset House...
WILDERNESS WOODS
Last weekend Ollie and I finally went to get our Christmas tree. Every year we get our tree towards the end of November. Quite early, I know, but we head home to Devon around the 20th December and so we end up having to take it down a few days before we leave.
CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE 2017
Christmas is just around the corner and if like me you still haven't got all of your presents under wraps than hopefully I can help you out a little. I have put together a gift guide of some of my favourite picks; presents on my wish list, the favourite pieces I've purchase for people in the past and things I plan to buy for loved ones this year.
OLLIE'S BIRTHDAY IN CAMBRIDGE
Nearly two months ago now it was Ollie’s 26th Birthday. With the special day falling mid-week we decided to have a meal out on the evening of his actual birthday and celebrated with a trip to Cambridge at the weekend...
PROVENCE - AVIGON & BONNIEUX
We had started the day with high hopes for our trip to Avignon; visiting small local markets, exploring the backstreets and admiring the grand papal palace. Unfortunately things didn’t go to plan once we realised...
