A LOOK BACK AT CHRISTMAS 2019
With Christmas 2020 around the corner I thought it would be fun to have a look back at Christmas 2019. Partly because I need to dig out the photo to jog my memory of the decor we have but also because it was our first Christmas on the avenue and I want to be able to remember it.
MY BIRTHDAY PART TWO
After a lovely weekend with family we headed to Cheltenham to stay in No.38 The Park. As you can see from the display of balloons Ollie went all in with the birthday celebrations.
MY BIRTHDAY
This year my birthday weekend fell right when the Beast from the East was hitting Devon. I couldn’t believe the amount of snow we had for March, it’s never snowed anywhere near my birthday month before so that was pretty surreal...
UNASSUMING MOMENTS
This past weekend was a great one. I have to admit it has been a while since Ollie and I rediscovered our childlike wonder and just enjoyed ourselves, as it happens a day out of the city did just that. Richmond is outside the city right?...
BEATING THE JANUARY BLUES
There is no hiding the fact that January is universally one of the toughest months of the year, all of the festivities from Christmas are over, your bank balance has depleted and the weather is, well, miserable!
COSY OUTERWEAR
The silver lining of these grey clouds in the sky is the thought of snuggling up in cosy outerwear. When it comes to the colder temperatures there is only two reason I reach for...
FLORAL RUFFLES AND BRITISH MILITARY STYLE
I think I’m currently in my favourite winter period for dressing, it’s cold enough to bundle up and put a coat on but still bearable enough to walk around outside without feeling like one of your extremities is going to fall off...
CHRISTMAS IN LONDON
There is no better place than London for the build up to Christmas. This year I promised myself I would try and make the most of it, take a bit more time off over December and really enjoy the festivities. I finally got around to ice skating at Somerset House...
WILDERNESS WOODS
Last weekend Ollie and I finally went to get our Christmas tree. Every year we get our tree towards the end of November. Quite early, I know, but we head home to Devon around the 20th December and so we end up having to take it down a few days before we leave.
CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE 2017
Christmas is just around the corner and if like me you still haven't got all of your presents under wraps than hopefully I can help you out a little. I have put together a gift guide of some of my favourite picks; presents on my wish list, the favourite pieces I've purchase for people in the past and things I plan to buy for loved ones this year.
OLLIE'S BIRTHDAY IN CAMBRIDGE
Nearly two months ago now it was Ollie’s 26th Birthday. With the special day falling mid-week we decided to have a meal out on the evening of his actual birthday and celebrated with a trip to Cambridge at the weekend...
PROVENCE - AVIGON & BONNIEUX
We had started the day with high hopes for our trip to Avignon; visiting small local markets, exploring the backstreets and admiring the grand papal palace. Unfortunately things didn’t go to plan once we realised...
PROVENCE - DATE NIGHT IN GORDES
Being on holiday really makes me appreciate the importance of date night. These days we are constantly busy and pencilling something in the diary takes months in advance to organise. Between work, family, friends, social media and simply...
PROVENCE - NEVER STOP SEARCHING
There has been a bit of an underlying theme of keeping my feelings away from my blog posts and not opening up about myself. There's something about opening up on the internet which absolutely terrifies me. Not so much people taking a dislike...
PROVENCE - LAVENDER FIELDS AT DUSK
The lavender fields in Provence were one of the main reasons for our visit in July. There’s a list of destinations I want to visit that I have saved on my laptop and most of them need planning around the seasons. Once I started researching...
