Marrakech is a year round destination with guaranteed sunshine and warm temperatures and with London lacking in both I was very ready for the break. The city truly is a sensory overload, an Aladdin's cave bursting with history, colour and culture, but I will get into that in my next post.We arrived at our riad around midday and after a 3am start we wanted to ease into the Marrakech hustle. My mum had mentioned we should visit Le Jardin Secret before leaving and I am so glad she did as it really is the most tranquil oasis in the heart of everything. As the name suggests it really did seem like a secret, we had the gardens almost to ourselves for the duration of our visit. The gardens are split into two, one as you enter is full of exotic plants and the next is a traditional islamic garden.We took our time wandering along the beautifully tiled paths, stopping to read about the history along the way. I bought it in urban outfitters and although its no longer online its still in stores in the UK. The panama hat was in fact Ollie's but I had my eyes on it as soon as he bought it, I think we will now call it ours.
