St James Park is no secret. It's nestled in between some of London’s most iconic buildings and attracts millions of tourists, and Londoner’s alike each year. In my opinion the best time to visit is now, the autumn leaves are still bursting with colour, the air is crisp and the pink cotton coated morning skies are almost edible.

If I lived on its doorstep (a girl can dream), this is where I would spend every Sunday morning, strolling through its grounds and grabbing brunch. Rise with the dog walkers, keen runners and a handful of early birds and you will have a little piece of London all to yourself. While not the biggest of London’s park it is the oldest and possibly the best for sightseeing, being surrounded by Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace and Westminster. Not to mention those views of the London Eye and Big Ben!

So of course, on this Sunday morning I set the alarm for what felt like the dead of night and slowly woke in the darkness, pulled on my clothes as quickly as humanly possible and ran out the door. The silver lining of these dark winter mornings is being able to catch the sunrise everyday.

The silhouette is really flattering and has a fun 60's vibe. The print is a real show stopper and just so happened to blend in perfectly with the golden red leaves scattered around the park. After taking in the sights it was time to defrost and escape the cold. Next to the lake you'll find Inn the Park, the perfect spot for brunch. This cabin style cafe is best enjoyed with a warming hot chocolate and a table with a view of the London Eye. Don't be fooled by the pictures, I also shared half of Ollie's French toast with bacon and maple syrup!
