More then ever over the last few years my family and I have been savouring the time we spend together over the Christmas break. While my brother and I were at school and university we would take full advantage of those month long holidays. So when we had to give them up for the working world we soon began to appreciate the importance of family over the Christmas break.

Before Ollie and I went away to Vienna this week, we popped back home to visit my parents; who will be hosting Christmas this year. This was a great time to catch up with everyone and take some time to enjoy some of the simpler things in life before the festivities truly take off. There really is nothing better than spending Christmas at home and taking the time to switch off and to relish spending time with the people around you.

in the South West; enjoying the surroundings, spending time with the family and of course with our beloved family dog, Benson. Not that he will be pleased about that, any hint of rain and he would rather stay inside, as they say 'like dog, like owner'.Underneath I wore this cream chunky cable knit jumper with a button up detail on the back. I have a very set ritual when I get home after a long day, or any day, sometimes even early afternoon or in a rare case all day! I bung my hair up in a pony tail or messy bun, put on some cosy loungewear, snuggle down with a blanket or two and read.I have been living in these stripped lounge pants and grey lounge top recently.
