But as the summer started to approach we soon felt that need to book a break away and our focus shifted slightly from house hunt to holiday hunt.I had been wanting to book a holiday to the South of France for years and it’s been on my bucket list to tick off in the near future, being so close and accessible from London. We knew we wanted to travel around and see as many places as possible but we didn't want to be packing our bags every other night and settling into a new place. So we picked an Airbnb in the village of Villenuve, right in the middle of all the places we wanted to visit, it's in the Durance Valley and like many other villages in Provence it sits on the top of a hill. We would hop in and out of the car, stopping every other minute along the way to take in a view. Most days we weren't making it back to our Airbnb until gone midnight, the days just weren't long enough. All of the places we wanted to visit had been starred on our Google Maps so navigating our way around was a breeze. We started the day in Saigon, a beautiful unspoilt medieval village in the Luberon. Although Saigon is well known, it was wonderfully quiet and unchanged, not effected by the rise in modern day technology. There weren't many restaurants, shops or cafés and the main stopping point for visitors seemed to be a tearoom on the corner of the main street. We wondered the narrow streets for a few hours, stopping frequently to admire pretty houses with colourful shutters and potted gardens. Then climbed up the pathway through the stone archway which lead to the castle, chapel and rock of Saigon. The temperature this day was soaring up to 35 degrees and so after a full day walking around in the heat we decided to go back and relax by the pool.
