Although the building has been changed over the years, with new bits added and old bits covered up, travellers were first offered a place to sleep and warm meal here in 947AD, making it the oldest inn charming and unspoilt village, just off the main tourist trail. Although when travelling we love to see the main tourist sights, they can sometimes get a little lost in the crowds, Naunton gave us a sense of the real Cotswolds.[/fusion_text][/one_full][one_full explored them all before finding what we thought was the best one. The village sits in a bowl and a short walk up one of the paths (and up quite a steep hill) provides striking views over the village. At the top we were greeted by some very handsome sheep who seemed quite put out that we had disturbed their late lunch.
